One minute film

Bad Doggie, Chuckles
I did not like acting in Bad Doggie, Chuckles because their dialog seemed to like it was scripted. I also didn’t understand why there was a green effect on the film.  I did not find the comedy within the characters’ idea for a viral video that great.

Fish Supper
A one-minute film can seem like a hard task but Fish Supper make the documentary seem to last longer. I think this was achieved because it was filmed like a documentary and with an interesting character. Although it was based on a subject that would seem uninteresting it was enjoyable to watch and with the comical ending I think it was great.
I think by somehow making the time appear longer than a minute will help it film become a success.

College (favourite film)

My favourite film is the last film that I went to see in the cinema,The Great Gatsby. The Great Gatsby was originally a book by F. Scott Fitzgerald which was written in 1925. It was first brought to the screen in 1926 as a silent movie which was directed by Herbert Bernon. Four other remakes of the film have been released until in 2013 by Baz Luhrmann who both directed and produced the latest take of the novel.

The Great Gatsby was in my opinion a great storyline which is set in Long Island, where Midwesterner Nick Carraway is intrigued by the lavish world of his neighbour, Jay Gatsby. Soon enough, Nick starts to realise the truth behind Gatsby’s grand desire for the American dream. When this happens, deceit, love and death all follow.

I first discovered the book when reading it for my exam for school earlier this year and then after finishing the book I watched the 2000 release version of the movie directed by Robert Markowitz in class. I went with my English class to the cinema to watch Baz Luhrmann’s 2D version, I shorted planed after watching the movie to watch it again and to get the book.

When I first watched the trailer for the movie I was excited to see that Baz Luhrmann was directing the movie because I have seen most of his films apart from Strictly Ballroom. Baz tried getting into the National Institute of Dramatic Art in 1980 but was not accepted. He successfully auditioned again two years later. I really enjoy watching movies which he has directed. I really like Baz’s use colour in key moments in this movie. I personally think that The Great Gatsby has a unique style which helps the story flow, I particularly think the way the words which are written off the typewriter come alive on the screen to create the next scene.
